People who don’t know what’s going on might think of it as a riot situation.
It is funny to think that the world economy is so tied to something so seemingly disorganized and inefficient. But it works, somehow, and there are winners and losers each day just like online business owners who “win” and “lose” targeted traffic.
Picture a big group of guys all yelling and trying to get the attention of a couple people, who in turn, are trying to decipher what it is they are buying or selling. You cannot imagine that anyone has an edge over anyone else in this scenario.
Now picture one of the traders being 3 feet taller than everyone else. This guy gets heard and seen above all the others and has better, faster results from his obvious edge over everyone else.
Internet marketing is much like the Wall Street scenario. Everyone is yelling and screaming (with their links and ads) trying to get the attention of their market. It’s chaotic yet it is organized in its own way.
The ones to understand how to be the guy who is 3 feet taller than the rest of the crowd are the winners at the end of the day.
This might be from being number one in Yahoo for their keyword, or having a bigger list of subscribers than everyone else in their market niche.
Having the tools to operate in the winner’s circle online is like pulling up a chair on the trading floor to see and be seen by more of your market.
In order to stand head and shoulders above the rest you must know your craft and be intimately tied to the changing currents in search engine marketing and other forms of online marketing.
This is your chair that will enable you to out-perform your competition who are below you fighting for scraps, trying to be seen and be heard above the din.
It is impossible these days to be a passive internet marketer.

Lecturer wins Korean awards
0 Comments | New Straits Times, Jan 7, 2009
KUANTAN: A lecturer of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) has received a special award in Seoul recently for developing a cheap system to supply clean water to rural areas.
Abdul Shukor Abd Razak’s water filtering system, which combines a natural filter and reverse osmosis membrane, also won the gold award at the Seoul International Invention Fair last month.
He developed the natural filter using raw materials like coconut shells and oil palm kernels. His invention was one of seven entries sent by UMP to the prestigious competition.
It was the first time the university took part and it bagged two gold, four silver and one bronze award.
Shukor said he developed the system in 2006 to provide a cheaper way to supply clean water to remote villages and Orang Asli settlements.
He said it only cost RM700,000 to install his water harvesting and filtering system for 2,000 Orang Asli in Kampung Simpai, Pekan.
But it would cost around RM5 million to lay down a piping system to the village.
UMP vice-chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Daing Nasir Ibrahim said the university would help the lecturers to patent their inventions and find ways to commercialise them.

A third of A&E patients ‘don’t need to be there’
0 Comments | Lincolnshire Echo, Jul 28, 2010 | by Charlotte Orson
MORE than 20,000 people a year seek treatment at Lincoln’s A&E department unnecessarily, according to an NHS boss.
Attendances at the city’s A&E department have risen year on year.
And as a result, Government targets dictating 98 per cent of patients should be treated within four hours have been missed.
The growing numbers have prompted the head of operations at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust, Roger Long, to make a bid to NHS Lincolnshire to fund a “streaming” system at A&E department in Lincoln and Boston.
The proposal would see locum GPs based at A&E and patients asked at the department’s reception desk whether their condition could be treated by a GP.
If the answer is “yes”, they would then be redirected to see the locum GP, freeing up A&E staff to treat emergencies.
The system has already been introduced after 6pm on weekdays and throughout the weekend at Grantham And District Hospital, so more patients can be treated within the Government’s target time of four hours.
Mr Long said: “We are seeing if we can stream individuals initially during out-of-hours times and then in-hours because we have a lot of patients who could be seen in a different setting.
“And, ideally, we would have this model in Lincoln and Boston around the clock.”
The trust’s newly published annual report for 2009/10 revealed 62,878 people attended A&E at Lincoln County Hospital during the financial year.
Mr Long said: “One third of patients coming to A&E don’t need to be there. A&E is, by its nature, accident and emergency and a large proportion of patients could go to alternative primary care providers such as the out-of-hours service.”
Mr Long said that although Lincoln’s walk-in centre in Monks Road had proven hugely popular, it was not reducing the number of unnecessary visits to A&E. In fact, there were 3.1 per cent more visits to A&E last month than the previous June, a month after the walk-in centre opened.
Hospitals trust chairman Paul Richardson said busy periods in A&E used to be restricted to the winter months, when seasonal flu caused an influx of patients.
He said: “It used to be winter pressures, but we got out of winter ages ago.”

ACCORDING to a recent report by Mintel, the average British man spends just [pounds sterling]2.38 a year looking after his skin. With Father’s Day on Sunday, there’s no better time to get the man in your life started on a skincare regime, especially if he’s still shy about buying for himself.
Skincare Intelligence Rejuvenating Face Scrub, [pounds sterling]1.96, Tesco
THIS range is so well priced you can buy everything a man needs for less than [pounds sterling]10. Deliciously scented with black pepper, this scrub is clear, lathering up with water, and really leaves skin feeling clean. Helps soften stubble for a closer shave.
Age Force, Lancome Men, [pounds sterling]48.50, counters nationwide
THIS innovative anti-ageing cream is for more mature men, and should be on every man’s 50th birthday wish list. Feels light, yet has amazing moisturising properties, leaving skin supple and removing tightness after shaving. Delicately scented, but will not clash with aftershave. This will start as a treat and quickly become a must-have.
Espa Shavemud Espa, [pounds sterling]16.50, www.espaonline.com
THIS is the most luxurious mud you’ll ever come across. A silky cream — not mud- coloure– that’s a deepcleansing mask and shaving cream. It smells like an expensive spa. With white china clay to draw out impurities, it helps the razor glide across the skin.
Molton Brown Black Pepper Body Soother, [pounds sterling]13, www.moltonbrown.co.uk
BODY lotion isn’t traditionally a man’s thing — they don’t fancy the perceived stickiness of moisturising all over. This ‘body soother’ dries within seconds, leaving no residue, and smells as spicy as the name suggests

For words that they can?t create a picture for (like ?an,? or ?the?), they can make a picture of the word by shaping it out of string, Wikki Stix, or clay. Some schools use letters made out of sandpaper so the student can trace over the shape of the letter with a finger. Any of these techniques will help to create mental images of the new words they are learning to read.
Whole words can be placed on large index cards and hung from a key chain or stored in a special word box. Then, the beginning reader can practice sorting all the words with similar starting sounds, similar ending sounds or other categories they think up. This is called, ?analytic phonics,? and will help any reader become even better.
Speed reading
I have one huge tip for visual-spatial learners regarding reading: speed read! Just like beginning readers have no need for picture-less words such as ?the,? ?and,? ?like,? and so on, the child who is ready to progress in reading isn?t creating pictures for these words, either. So, just skip them! Have your visual-spatial children practice running their fingers, very quickly, over one line of words, then the next.

My whole life was thrown in a lot of different directions when I started high school. I wanted the acceptance, I wanted the perfect boyfriend and I wanted to fit in. I changed my entire life to fit the mold of what I thought I should be like. I put on the fake smile to look as if I was actually happy. I entered the party world with the drugs and the alcohol. I thought it was the thing to do. I shut out my parents and I shut out everyone who truly cared about me. The only thing that truly mattered was being able to escape the hellish life I lived.
I went to desperate measures when all I wanted to do was end it all and not have to wake up and face the agony all over again. I used excuses to why I should end my life. The only thing that kept me from it was the fact that I was scared. Mostly I was scared of myself.
My parents knew something was wrong but I never would admit it to them because I did not believe there was anything wrong.

I am not suggesting that you need to give up everything that makes life pleasurable, but it is vitally important that if you are concerned with your health and wish to reduce the signs of aging you must have a healthy lifestyle.
Exercise is considered by many experts to be one of the most important considerations in anti aging. Gentle Exercise taken in moderation provides the body with many benefits, for instance it stimulates the blood flow helping to clear those blocked veins and arteries,it builds healthier muscles, and increased bone stability so helping to off set the effects of osteoporosis. If you want to help reduce the effects of aging you will benefit from a regular exercise program.

Absorbing little amounts of a synthetic hormone can cause the pituitary gland to produce more of its own natural human growth hormone into the bloodstream. Secretagogues can contain real human growth hormone. They can still be available without a prescription but only if they do so in very small quantity.
Other supplements can be misleading especially when they claim to have any significant amount of true human growth hormone and are available without a prescription. This is definitely a direct violation of the Federal Law.
